Job Title: Children Deputy Manager
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: up to £34,000 per annum upon successful completion of the probation period Hours: 09.00 – 17.00 Mon – Fri

About Us:
Coben Healthcare are working with a Children’s Care Services which is a residential childcare provider offering placements for young people aged 8 to 18 who may exhibit emotional and challenging behaviours. Many of their young people have experienced significant adversity and trauma, making it difficult for them to remain in familial or foster care settings.
Their mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment for young people and a rewarding, development-focused workplace for our care team. They operate in compliance with Ofsted standards and guidelines, ensuring adherence to the Children’s Act and Children’s Care Standards.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in effectively running our residential children’s home. This role involves managing budgets, overseeing staff development, and supporting the well-being and progress of the young people in our care. Responsibilities include:
Formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments, and positive handling plans
Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision to the care team
Ensuring the home operates in compliance with Ofsted standards
Promoting a safe and nurturing environment for young people
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum two years in a supervisory role within a residential care setting
Qualifications:
Level 4 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce (or equivalent)
Level 5 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce (preferred or willingness to work towards)
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people and careers in residential care
Passion for supporting and making a difference in young people’s lives
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
