Meet The Coben Healthcare Team

Established in 2011, we have over 35 years of experience in Primary and Secondary healthcare.

 Jayne Fitzhenry

CEO

I founded the company back in 2011 when myself and my business partner at the time felt that bigger recruitment agencies were so focused on Secondary Care, yet there was a big change happening in Primary Care with increased access to services outside of the normal core hours. We quickly found ourselves supplying into a variety of settings & within the first year, we had a team of 7 people & Coben was officially born!

Due to such quick growth, we made a decision in 2014 that we needed help taking the business to the next level & that is where Nina my trusty business partner & long-time friend came along, and the rest is history.

Nina Adamski

Managing Director

I fell into healthcare recruitment back in 2004 when I worked for a large corporate company as a manager, then operations manager for 10 years. I then spent a year working for an accountancy firm working with the NHS implementing systems that helped with efficiencies and spend. This allowed me a real insight into NHS trusts across the country, their challenges and what they needed ensure their temporary staffing models were fit for purpose.

I was then approached by my long standing friend and now business partner Jayne to come on board Coben back in 2014 and the rest, they say is history.

Running a healthcare recruitment business is both immensely stressful yet satisfying, but we are lucky that we have a strong, passionate team.

Kevin Green

Operations Manager

I have been in healthcare recruitment since May 2000 and started my career in secondary care working with consultants across major UK contracts. After 17 successful years in secondary care I had the opportunity to join Coben in 2017 and an opportunity to learn more about Primary care and to drive growth of  a new area for the business.

I started as Lead Consultant for the Midlands team, progressing to Team Manager in 2018 whilst continuing to bill with team. I became Operations Manager at the turn of 2021  and am currently focused on driving business growth, refining our internal processes and looking to expand our already passionate, driven and dedicated sales team. I believe success is built on hard work, consistency, integrity and transparency that should be reflected in everything we do across the business.

Penny Gowland

Clinical Governance Lead

I began working with Coben Healthcare as an agency ANP several years ago. I quickly joined the team on a consultancy basis and have now been in my current role for over three years.

I qualified as a nurse in 1981 and have continuously worked in a variety of roles and settings since then. My early career was spent in theatres, specialising in cardiothoracic surgery as a Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) before qualifying as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in 2007.

Alongside my clinical roles, I have held leadership positions, including Lead Nurse, where I managed teams, led service development, and mentored multidisciplinary professionals. My commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement has been a cornerstone of my approach to healthcare leadership.

In 2014, I transitioned into primary care to achieve a better work-life balance while caring for my mother. This shift introduced me to the complexities of managing a diverse patient population with a wide range of symptoms, alongside the challenges faced by primary care clinicians, including workload volume and time constraints. I have since worked across various settings, including GP practices and Urgent Care Clinics, Out of Hours, and was privileged to be part of the High Impact Primary Care Project in Manchester.

Currently, I work part-time with Coben Healthcare, where I play a key role in supporting the non-medical workforce. I provide guidance on revalidation, clinical supervision, and professional development. I also lead on complaints management, coordinating policies between clinicians and clients while offering support, advice, and guidance to the clinical team.

In addition to my clinical governance responsibilities, I collaborate with the wider Coben team, utilising my managerial experience in recruitment and employment. With a wealth of expertise in advanced nursing practice and healthcare leadership, I remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and compliance.
